There are many different choices for swimming pool paving such as concrete and  natural stone. They all have their advantages and disadvantages but the best option is travertine. This particular natural stone coping has many attributes, particularly around a pool.  Travertine pool copings are cool to the touch. This means that when you walk barefoot they will not be hot on your feet. The colors that travertine pavers come in are endless which is great for various home improvement projects.  From gold to ivory to walnut, the color range is wide. Whatever look you are trying to accomplish, there is a travertine coping that will suit your need.

Travertine Pool Copings can be purchased in several different finishes. They can be tumbled or honed, and travertine pool coping may generally be left unfilled, meaning that the holes and pores are left alone, which adds to the stone's rustic appearance and rough texture around pool.

Travertine Pool Coping comes in different sizes .Most common sizes are 4"x12", 6"x12", 12"x12" or 12"x24". A 12"x12" is a good choice and is one of the most popular. If the pool has many curves, you may use 6"x12" pool coping as there will be fewer cuts.

Certain pool copings such as 12"x24" have a nice look. These can be easily used for more geometric shaped pools. Wider copings can be used for curvilinear swimming pools, but there will be more cutting of the pieces, and there for it will be more time consuming for the contractor.
