Travertine Pavers Houston

Travertine pavers can be found all over the Houston area.  It is amazing to think of the influence of travertine natural stone on the great architectural works of the city.  A perfect example of this can be found in the Jones Hall building.  Jones Hall is located in the downtown area of Houston.  It is dedicated to the arts and literally millions have visited the location.  The building itself covers the space of an entire block.  The exterios has a curving travertine that covers part of the exterior columns.  The light shining on the exterior highlights the building's beauty.  The interior has an equal stunning appeal.  The building itself was dedicated to the memory of Jess Holman Jones.  He was an important figure in the first half of the 20th Century in Houston.  He served in FDR's cabinet as our nation was struggling to recover from the Great Depression.  But Jesse Holman Jones was also a builder.  In fact, he built 35 buildings in the Houston area.  In addition, he was the one time owner of the Houston Chronicle.  Jones desired that an opera would be built.  The building serves as a lasting memory of his influence on the city.  The architects build the building to house several different art forms.  The auditorium can shrink from by a number of 600 seats from its 2911 person capacity.  The hall stands out with its red velvet seating.  The curving travertine walls and columns stand out creating a real natural stone appeal.
